Aquaman (2018) - Movie Review (Non-Spoiler)

Cast: Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane / Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna. Directed by James Wan.

HOME IS CALLING.

Aquaman is the sixth installment in the DC Extended Universe, and it stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry A.K.A Aquaman, the heir to the Kingdom of Atlantis, and he must step up to take his rightful place as king and helping him along the way is his 'love interest', badass heroine Mera (Amber Heard) and I use the term love interest very loosely because she's not the typical damsel in the distress, his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) who seeks to unite the seven underwater kingdoms and declare war on the surface world and also, in Arthur and Mera's way is Black Manta, (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who is hellbent on killing Arthur.

Supergirl Movie In The Works From '22 Jump Street' Writer

I assure you guys, the title is not wrong. A Supergirl movie is in development at Warner Bros and DC Films, with Oren Uziel being helmed to write the script. Apparently, there was an easter egg in Man of Steel that hinted she existed in the DC Extended Universe but, to my knowledge, I don't recall at all. As of right now, no director has been announced to do the film but, you can be for sure, a female director will do it.

My Thoughts On This Latest Update on Matt Reeves' The Batman'

A huge news update on Matt Reeves' The Batman' dropped yesterday by Mario-Francisco Robles (@I_AM_MFR) and it sent the whole internet in an uproar, both positives and negatives were going around on social media, YouTube and Twitter, mostly. So I wanted to give my thoughts on this whole update. But, first, we are going to go back a bit, all the way to last year, too:

MATT REEVES ARRIVAL AS DIRECTOR OF THE BATMAN

On February 10, 2017, it was announced that Matt Reeves would be directing the solo Batman movie for the DC Extended Universe, then a week later, it was reported that Reeves has dropped out and THEN, two weeks later, he was back to being the director. What I believe and many people on social media, including Mario (@I_AM_MFR) on his podcast, have speculated is that the reason why he returned to being director for the solo movie is because he wanted FULL CREATIVE CONTROL, he will have a voice in what goes in the movie, what the script is going to be, who's producing etc. Warner Bros was playing hard to get with Reeves and WB caved. So you can tell that Reeves is not playing around. He's keeping EVERYTHING close to him and probably his team because he doesn't want anything to leak out.

Aquaman (2018) - Trailer Review

Gotta love the new logo.

THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER AND MY GOD IT WAS WORTH IT.

It's been far, far too long since I've updated my blog and gave a review for a movie or TV show, seeing how it summer vacation not a lot of stuff have been out lately that has peaked my interest. That is until yesterday when the long-awaited trailer for Aquaman debut at San Diego Comic Con. Now let's talk about the future King of Atlantis, shall we?

The first act of the trailer we see Thomas Curry, Arthur Curry's (Aquaman) father, in his lighthouse and see Queen Atlanna on shore, supposedly injured. My guess is that she was running away from her people (Atlanteans) or some evil sea creatures, and we get some small montages of the couple having a baby and that baby grows up to become Arthur Curry as he is destined to unite both the sea and the surface world.

Justice League (2017) - Movie Review

Cast: Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone / Cyborg, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta & J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon. Directed by Zack Snyder.

YOU CAN'T SAVE THE WORLD ALONE

Justice League is the fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe, taking place after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and it involves Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) recruiting The Flash (Barry Allen), Cyborg (Victor Stone) and Aquaman (Arthur Curry) to form the Justice League, in the honor of Superman, and to save the planet from the threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.

All eyes were in this movie, so many people were thinking this was going to be horrible while others, want this movie to be great and does it succeed...in my opinion it does but, it does have a couple of flaws. Now, this is a pretty straightforward movie because a lot of people and critics hated the multiple story-lines in Dawn of Justice, so Warner Bros/DC decided it needed to be a linear plot and for the most part, I liked it, it didn't need to be this EPIC story. I really hope this movie does well at the box office because all of the characters that were in this movie had there moment to shine.
