RUMOUR: 'Lord of the Rings' director Peter Jackson and two others set to do a DC Film

Peter Jackson, the man who created the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogy.

If you haven't been on Twitter for a long time, you would know that a big rumour is travelling through the Twitter universe and that is Peter Jackson is going to direct a DC Film, along with two other directors, doing their own DC Films. Now nothing has been confirmed yet, this is all speculation at this point.

TheOneRing.net says that Peter Jackson is currently thinking about what project he wants to tackle next. His choices? To do a Middle-Earth series for Amazon Prime, Amazon are currently making a live-action TV show of Lord of the Rings, so it would make sense to bring Jackson along to oversee the TV show since he created one of the definitive trilogy movies in history. And his second choice would be to direct a DC Film.

@DanielRPK, who is a reliable source, so I've been told, stated on May 10th that a 'big director' are in talks to do a DC Film. Jackson certainly fits the title of big director. But, we have no idea, who the other two directors are.

In my opinion, I would want Peter Jackson to do the Green Lantern Corps movie. The scale of doing a Green Lantern movie is, in my opinion, almost the same as doing a Lord of the Rings or Star Wars movie. The lore behind the Green Lanterns is so vast and big, to give it to a brand new director who hasn't made a ton of movies would be troublesome. But, with Jackson, that movie can be made. Geoff Johns wrote Green Lanterns stories for years and brought so much rich mythology to the universe that I can consider Green Lantern to be on par with the Star Wars Universe.

Tons and Tons of characters to juggle, I think only a Peter Jackson can tackle this.

To see this come to the big screen would be a dream come true for the fans

He has worked with Warner Bros and New Line Cinema before, so they know he can produce well crafted movies that have a big budget and knock it out of the park in the box office. I really hope this rumour is true because if so, then the DC Extended Universe is going to be a force to be reckon with. I mean it's PETER JACKSON for crying out loud.
