RUN BARRY, RUN!!!

Well, this season was great but, it wasn't better than Season 1. Granted every season 1 or origin comic book movie and TV adaption are always the best. Now for this review guys and gals, I'm not going to talk about every single episode, I will only do my favorite moments while still talking about the story.

After the conclusion of Season 1, Eobard Thawne / Reverse-Flash is defeated and is sucked into a singularity, however, because the singularity is so big, all of Central City will be destroyed. So, Flash and Firestorm (Ronnie and Professor Stein) attempt to destroy the singularity but, at the cost of Ronnie's life and this outcome led for more meta-humans from a different Earth (an alternative earth) known as Earth-2 to arrive on Earth-1. The person who sent the new meta-humans to Earth-1 is a man who goes by the name Zoom, who's real name is Hunter Zolomon.

Hunter Zolomon a.k.a Zoom

Now when I heard this villian and did my initial research, I thought it was another Reverse-Flash because, on Wikipedia, he had the same costume as Reverse-Flash....boy, was I wrong. Zoom is out to destroy Barry. Not only is he the fastest speedster ever but, his voice is the best. He just sounds so evil. My favorite episode would have to be 'Enter Zoom' because we get to see what Zoom is really made of and damn, he not only caught a lighting bolt with his demonic hands but, he crippled Barry for nearly an entire episode. And my favorite quote from him would have to be when he arrives where Iris works and he says to the camera's "This man is no God, he is nothing". Immediately I was like, a direct reference to Hermes.

Here's a fight between the two speedsters: The Flash vs Zoom [Enter Zoom]

We also get to see the return of Dr Harrison Wells again but, this Harrison Wells is from Earth-2 and the comedic banter that Wells and Cisco have is really great. However, the reason why Wells travelled to Earth-1 is because he is trying to stop Zoom who has kidnap his daugther, Jesse. And the reason why Zoom keeps sending meta-humans for Barry to defeat is because he wants to steal Barry's speed.

Dr Harrison Wells [Earth-2]

We run into a lot of characters from the comic books but, with a little twist. For my theory of one of the episodes of Flash, click here [Flash Theory Episode]. Jay Garrick and Wally West makes their appearance and for Wally West introduction, he was kind of a rude to pretty much Joe, Iris and Barry but eventually, he starts to warm up. He got hit by the second particle accelerator so maybe in Season 3, we will see him become a speedster.

Some of the episodes were a little bit boring/filler but, I understand that we need to time for some of the characters to be developed. At the end of the Rupture episode, Barry is vaporized by the second particle accelerator, he was attempting to get his speed back because he had to give it up to Zoom for Wally's life. Barry was sent to the Speed Force and with some guidance from the entities of the Spped Force (Joe, Iris, Henry and Nora), his speed returns to him. And OMG, after when Team Flash returns all of Zoom's army of meta-humans to Earth-2, I think they return, they celebrate a job well done, when all of a sudden Zoom shows up and kidnaps Henry (Barry's father) and with haste, Barry exposes himself to Wally and chases Zoom like Usain Bolt. And right in front of Barry, Zoom kills Henry. The feels of that cliffhanger, omg.

The finale episode was a OMG moment, Zoom decides the only way to truly defeat the Flash is to race him, to determine who is the fastest speedster. The Man in the Iron Mask has been an on-going theory ever since he appeared and in the final episode, Zoom reveals that he is the real Jay Garrick, Henry's doppleganger from Earth-2. During the race, Barry is having a hard time keeping up with Zoom, however, he is able to create a time remnant of himself to defeat Zoom but, at the cost of his, the time remnant life. When I saw two Flash, I thought Barry was able to create a speed mirage just like Reverse-Flash but, that wasn't the case.

Eobard Thawne's Speed Mirage (You need to be VERY fast to create your own)

The Man in the Iron Mask

Now there are two VERY important parts in this episode and that is when Zoom is defeated and Barry going back in time. When Barry defeats Zoom, the Time Wraiths show up to, I think to destroy Zoom and his suits turns black and red and in the comic books there is a Black Flash. This calls for speculation as to whether or not we will see Black Flash again. And the Black Flash has the ability to destroy other speedsters.

The Man in the Iron Mask is the real Jay Garrick

Hunter Zolomon turns into the Black Flash

And last but not least, Iris and Barry finally decide to get into a relationship however, Barry is still tormented by his father's death. So Barry decides to go back in time when Reverse-Flash is going to kill Nora Allen. Barry knocks him out and because Barry intervenes with the timeline, The Flash from Season 1 titled, Fast Enough, the Flash who hid behind the door waiting for the right moment to save Nora Allen has been erased. So all the events from Season 1 never existed and now Season 2 timeline has also been erased. So this means that Barry never met Harrison Wells, Cisco, Caitlin and any of the other characters from Flash and Arrow, excpet for Joe and Iris. I gurantee Barry will assume that Iris will want to be him but, it won't happen. This moment has a huge reference from Flashpoint comic book story arc and Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated movie. This will have huge ramifications for the next season and I can't wait.

Barry finally saves his mother (Nora Allen) but, at what cost??

So The Flash Season 2 have you seen it and what did you think about the final race of Zoom and Flash. Who is your favourtie speedster in the DC Universe? Comment below, spread this article and let me know on Twitter on your thoughts and I'll see you next time. Later.

P.S. Definitely buying Season 1 and 2 on Blu-ray. Hopefully, the DC Cinematic Universe will be just as good as the TV show. Thank God, Geoff Johns is in charge, sorry Zack Snyder but, you can't direct or tell a great story. Nice visuals though, will talk more about this in another article.
