The Conjuring 2 - Movie Review

Cast: Vera Farmiga as Lorraine Warren, Patrick Wilson as Ed Warren, Frances O'Connor as Peggy Hodgson, Madison Wolfe as Janet Hodgson, Simon McBurney as Maurice Grosse, Franka Potente as Anita Gregory and many more.

Another great horror movie from James Wan, get ready to be scared (SCREAMS!!!!!)

The Conjuring 2 is the sequel to the 2013 film The Conjuring and it stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as paranormal investigators, or as I like to call them ghostbusters, Ed and Lorraine Warren.

In this sequel, we see the Warrens travel to England to help out the Hodgson family, who have been experiencing strange entities in their home in Brimsdown Enfield. And this strange entity has attached itself to one of the daughters of Hodgson. Now I'm going to be straight up honest with you guys, this movie was great. This movie was really effective to me, I'm talking like if you see your door slightly open and it's super dark, close that door and run as fast as you can to your room and turn on the lights.

Ed & Lorraine Warren (Hope we get a sequel)

I don't know how James Wan managed to make a great sequel to a horror movie because if you think about, most of the time they are pretty terrible and I mean, REALLY TERRIBLE and cheesy. So I gotta give a huge thumbs up for that, I can't wait to see what he does with Aquaman. The first 45 minutes or hour of the movie is general build up, seeing who the characters are and what the Warrens are up to after the sequel. But after that time mark was just non-stop anxiety.

Patrick Wilson & James Wan (Good choice DC Films for picking James Wan for Aquaman)

Creepy scene followed up with another creepy scene, and the whole time you are just waiting for that moment for something to pop up but, it doesn't happen it just cuts to another scene. So, in a way, the movie is giving you time for you to catch your breath. There are a couple of jump scares scene but, they quickly follow up with a FULL ON scary moment. Make sure to watch this with friends and in a big theatre.

The next hour of the movie deals with the investigation part, where the Warrens stay in the house and observe how the entity moves throughout the house. And at one point, in the movie the Warrens starts questioning themselves if this whole thing is just a ruse. Kids are liars and they can easily play pranks on people, so it gives you a sense are they telling the truth or are they lying (hmm). The camera angles, the shots, the lightings and the tensions are just so well crafted that you are going to have a good time with this movie. My favourite part of the film, it's kind of a spoiler but I won't ruin it, but Ed Warren is having an interview with somebody, the camera is soley focused on his face but, in the background, it's all blurry but you can still see who is he talking to. So make sure to look at Ed and the person he's interviewing, it just really cool to be honest.

Are they telling the truth or is it all a ruse

My only gripe with the movie is that it's a horror movie, you have seen this hundred of times or maybe in the double digits, so you know what to expect. However, this girl deserves a huge shoutout, Madison Wolfe did a phenomenal job in this movie. If she didn't work or she was a terrible actress, the whole movie would be a disaster.

Madison Wolfe as Janet Hodgson (Great job)
Guys/Gals, in the end, The Conjuring 2 was a great movie, I personally love the first movie more than the second but, buying these two movies on Blu-ray and watching this with your friends, I guarantee you are going to have a GREAT night. I hope we get another sequel, I really hope so.
