Mission Impossible - Rouge Nation Review

Cast: Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Jeremy Renner as William Brandt, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as IIsa Faust, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Sean Harris as Solomon Lane and Alec Baldwin as Alan Hunley. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie

Mission Impossible - Rouge Nation is the fifth installment in the Mission Impossible series and it stars Tom Cruise as Agent Ethan Hunt. In the movie, Hunt is on the run from the US government as he tries to investigate and prove the existence of the Syndicate, an Anti-IMF. Now I know what you are thinking, the fifth movie in the series it's going to be terrible as some other popular franchise tend to go downhill but, that's not the case with Rouge Nation, it's still going strong. The amount of action, humor and tension in the film is perfect and I like how there is a balance to all three of those types.

The action in this movie is just unbelievable, the very first scene you see a blend of humor and tension, Ethan was hanging onto the airplanes door..for real and Benji opening the wrong door. And the chase scene halfway in the movie, (OMG!!) there was a small scene when Ethan is chasing a female biker to retrieve a memory stick and he hurts his knee, no stuntman it was Tom Cruise 100% and it's moments like this that makes me appreciate the series even more because Tom Cruise mostly does his own stunts.

And I'm glad they used Ving Rhames more in this film, Simon Pegg was amazing as always, Jeremy Renner was great and Alec Baldwin was awesome. But, the one who stood out to me in this movie was Rebecca Ferguson, she played the role PERFECTLY, her hand to hand combat was great, you didn't know if she was part of the good side or bad side and there's a reason why I chose to put the movie poster as my heading. I really hope she comes back for the sixth film (I doubt it, they usually change the female lead in the films).

All in all, Rouge Nation is an excellent spy film and is my favorite in the franchise, everyone played their role perfectly, the action was great and the stunts were amazing and it managed to blend it all nicely, I can't stop thinking about this film, might have to buy it on blu-ray. If you like spy films I would highly recommend that you go see this film. I'm going to give Rouge Nation an A.
